Product Shot 1 The Pros:Minimal footprint, will fit comfortably on a night stand with room to spare. Fairly good sound output for such a small size, can get fairly loud. Small enough to be packed away and brought with you when travelling.

The Cons:Some quality control issues, occasionally a unit will emit a high-pitched tone when turned on. Poor shielding around the speakers, can be interfered with fairly easily. Doesn't always charge the iPod, depending on the version.

The Altec Lansing inMotion iM11BLK is a compact music player. It features an integrated dock that plays and charges iPods. Included also is an input jack for second-device connections, including CD, DVD, and MP3 players.

Where to Buy

Note that the system itself is not rechargeable; it relies on four AA batteries to deliver 18 hours of continuous play. Most unique about the iM11BLK is its weight of less than 1 pound, making it easy to pick up and carry for anybody. And despite its size and weight, it still packs quite a musical punch with its MaxxBass technology—built specifically for superior bass.

Additional Information

The Altec Lansing inMotion Compact is a competing model. It does not offer iPod recharging, but features a much longer lifespan of 48 hours.
