Altec Lansing MIX Boombox iMT800

$300.00 Released January, 2009

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Compact design, takes up minimal space up on the shelf. Setup is very easy, generally just need to plug in the power and you're ready to go. Plenty of loud bass support, strong impactful beats.

The Cons:Bass setting by default is very aggressive, can be overwhelming and need to be turned down. EQ settings are a bit tricky to find and set. Remote doesn't have full navigation control of the iPod.

The Altec Lansing MIX Boombox is a high-tech iPod docking station featuring a universal iPod/iPhone dock that recharges iPods. Included with the unit is dual auxiliary ports — for connecting two external audio devices — and a digital FM radio.

Where to Buy

The centerpiece of the Boombox is its extensive sound system, which utilizes dual 1” tweeters, dual 3” mid-range drivers, and a large 5.25” side-firing subwoofer. Note also the unit’s LCD for keeping track of album data, 7-band graphic equalizer for customizing audio output, and clip-on remote for conveniently managing the unit. The only drawback to the MIX Boombox is its reliance on eight expensive D batteries, that all-together only deliver 30 hours of continuous playing time.
