Altec Lansing octiv AIR M812

The Altec Lansing octiv AIR is a WIRELESS iPod docking station featuring a central speaker system and a wireless iPod dock. The system is equipped with 2.4GHz technology, allowing it to transmit back-and-forth from distances of up to 100’—through walls, floors, and ceilings.

The user simply places the dock somewhere in range, hooks up their iPod (which the system recharges), and then uses the wireless remote to play whichever song he or she chooses. Note also that an additional audio device, such as a CD/DVD/MP3 player, can be attached directly to the dock as well. The centerpiece of the octiv AIR M812, however, is that one dock can be scaled with up to 8 octiv AIR ADD speaker systems, allowing a user to setup his or her own wireless at-home surround sound system with ease.
