Altec Lansing Orbit iM207
$30.00
Released August, 2009
The Pros:Sound reproduction is clear and well defined. Size is very small and easy to carry around. Achieves a reasonable volume that's easy to hear - won't fill a room but it's loud enough for most purposes.
The Cons:No glowing LED to tell you if the power is on. Can't run the speaker from an AC source, batteries only. No stereo effect at all since it's just one speaker.
The Altec Lansing Orbit iM207 is a palm-sized, ultra-portable and lightweight MP3 speaker system that handles both iPods and MP3 players. It’s in fact so small that it can literally fit in either a purse or pocket.

Although tiny, the unit integrates a cone design with a custom-built Altec Lansing speaker to project audible sound in all directions—360 degrees. Note, however, that the unit is not rechargeable; it requires 3 fresh AAA batteries to operate for 24 hours. It is shock-resistant though, making it useful even in fast-moving vehicles like busses and cars. Plus, it comes with both a 3.5mm port AND a 2.5mm-to-3.5mm adapter, just in case.
