iHome iP29
$96.98
Released January, 2001
The Pros:Pretty good on battery life (20+ hours of playback on 4 AA batteries). Can go pretty loud with minimal distortion. Includes an AUX cable for hooking up other media devices.
The Cons:If it is run off of AC power for a long period of time, it may likely lose the ability to run on battery power. The zipper is really stiff, making opening/closing more annoying than it should be. The lid wants to close when set on a flat surface, making it press down slightly on your iPod.
The iHome iP29 is an iPhone/iPod portable speaker case cited as being “great for listening to music while at school or work out loud and in style.” Contained within a fabric wrapped protective shell (the case), the iP29 can charge one’s iPod or iPhone, keep it protected during travel, and also play music directly from it.
In addition, the iP29 packs in a digital signal processing BonGiovi Digital Power Station which is cited as “providing the iP29 with serious sound in a compact package.” The iHome iP29 is slated to drop on the market sometime in 2009. Prices are currently unset.
