Klipsch RoomGroove

$299.00 Released July, 2007

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Slick, straightforward design is quite pleasing to the eye. Multiple units can be networked wirelessly and easily for multi-room music. Included remote has excellent range.

The Cons:The iPod docking drawer is pretty fragile, can be broken quite easily. 6 pounds and no battery - poor for mobile use. Lacks other functionality such as radio, built-in alarm clock.

The Klipsch RoomGroove is a wireless iPod speaker made for iPod touch (1st generation), iPod nano (1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation), iPod classic (80GB, 160GB), and iPod 4th/5th generation. The second of two Klipsch Groove iPod speakers, the Klipsch RoomGroove is a drastic upgrade from the Klipsch iGroove SXT Classic.

Where to Buy

First and foremost, the RoomGroove is wireless and can in fact be combined with other RoomGrooves to make a KlipschCast wireless multi-room music system. Like its predecessor, however, the RoomGrove is also a 2-way system outfitted with dual 2.5” woofers in a ported enclosure, premium crossovers, and dual ¾” MicroTractrix horn-loaded tweeters. In addition, the RoomGroove sports an iPod alarm clock w/an instant wake functionality, an S-video output, an IR remote control, and auxiliary ports for connecting with other devices. The RoomGroove also charges the aforementioned iPods, but does not provide support for other models (primarily the latest generations) such as iPod Classic 2nd generation, Nano 4th generation, Touch 2nd generation, and iPhone 3rd generation. Lastly, the Classic comes with a retractable dock that charges most iPod models, a power adapter, a power cord, and a sleek black finish that fits comfortably into any office or living environment. The RoomGroove retails for a more expensive $299.00 (versus $149.00) and comes with a 1 year limited warranty.
