Logitech Pure-Fi Express Plus
$100.00
Released June, 2009
The Pros:Attractive, sleek design with nice angles and minimal distracting details. Reasonably small footprint, sits right back against the wall. Sound quality is perfect for use as a bedroom stereo, good clarity.
The Cons:Alarm clock functionality is fairly simplistic, doesn't offer a lot of options. Black glossy casing attracts fingerprints and smudges. Controls on the remote are overly simplistic, doesn't give very good control.
The Logitech Pure-Fi Express Plus is a portable iPod docking station outfitted with specialized speakers that project sound evenly in all directions. It is compatible with both iPods and iPhones, and keeps them charged so long as they are tucked into the dock.

Included also is an alarm clock, a wireless remote control, and a line-in port for connecting an external audio player. The Express Plus has been faulted by many though for containing far fewer features than similarly priced units by Logitech and Altec Lansing. For instance, the alarm is buzzer only; the remote functions don’t let you navigate the iPod menus; and there is no integrated AM/FM tuner.
