Logitech S315i

$130.00 Released August, 2009

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Reduces the number of wires on the desk, mostly self-contained except for the power cord. Has a neat and clean looking design. Sound quality is very good for a portable speaker, decent clarity with good detail.

The Cons:Still washes out with a little tinny sound at the top end.

The Logitech S315i is an entry-level, portable, and rechargeable iPod dock that works with every type of iPod available, including the Classic, Nano, and Touch. It is both compact and lightweight, and includes a simple interface for making quick adjustments.

Included are custom-tuned speakers for enhanced bass with deeper highs and richer lows. Note also the auxiliary port for connecting an external media player. Critics of the S315i point out though that the universal dock connector only charges the attached iPod or iPhone if the main unit is plugged directly into an AC power plug. Plus, the unit lacks a remote control and carrying case.
