Natively supporting Apple's iPod, iPhone and iPad devices, users can access automatic charging upon seating their product within the dock. A built-in subwoofer component is included for providing clean and resonant bass tones, alongside a pair of damper less speakers for balancing out middle and high frequency levels. Multiple "Sound Enhancer" modes are available for applying pre-configured EQ settings to various audio content, with selections including "Rock", "Pop", "Jazz", "Vocal" and "Flat". The docking area of the unit has been purposely widened to accommodate iDevices with cases, allowing users to use the station in a "plug-and-play" style rather than having to remove and replace accessories for each listening session. The RDP-X500iP also features a 3.5-milimeter stereo input jack for additional connectivity of other Mp3 players and smartphone devices.
